TurboBid is rated 4.5 stars by ITQlick experts, both software products offer a good range of features (TurboBid offers 12 main features). TurboBid, with a pricing score of 2 is considered less expensive to implement than Bluebeam Revu with a score of 5.8. TurboBid is an alternative Construction Estimating software, TurboBid installed on-premises, Bluebeam Revu can be used on-premises and on the cloud.

If you are just interested by calculating the volume between two surveys then only the pro edition can do that. I am not sure how relevant this is to the work you do. This is the technique used for estimating stockpiles. Also you can estimate the volume of your survey above a certain level by drawing a platform around the survey and setting it to Cut only and reading the cut volume.
This is still very useful though for designing building pads or a pond etc. The Lite edition doesn't include the surface element only a platform that allows you to draw a level\graded area with side slopes. The process is exactly the same for the proposed, apart from you need to add a 'surface' earthworks element. There is a different process for takeoff and CAD data. After this you can select the X,Y,Z and Tag columns of your data and it should build a TIN of your existing OK. From there click on the button with a "+" and a file symbol and select the file (.csv. If using your friends gps you are able to get a table of xyz survey points then you should be able to import this into the program by selecting 'Existing' from the menu and then 'Define Terrain'. This input can really help us continually improve the product and ultimately make your work easier to complete. We are actively developing the product and would welcome any feedback or questions from forum members especially in regard to user friendliness and how well it fits in with your workflow. If you have simple requirements the free edition might be all you need to do the whole job.

The free edition has many uses, such as a stockpile estimating and a ‘checker’ for manual methods. I would encourage anyone involved in earthworks estimating to download our free ‘lite’ edition, it has no time limit and can be a used to compare volumes between a surfaces and multiple platforms (AKA building pad, pit, Grade\Level Area).

Currently there is a Lite edition (for free) and a Professional edition.
It exports\imports from CAD and also supports on-screen take-off. It can calculate the volume between two surfaces (defined by points\contours\break lines) or between a surface and simple design elements like platforms, slopes, overlays and topsoil strips. The program uses a TIN based, prism volume method to calculate cut\fill which has been developed in-house. We designed it to be easy to learn for people in the industry who are transitioning from manual methods (Grid\Cross Sections) but don’t want to commit to the steep learning curve and cost commitments of complicated CAD packages. We’ve tried to take a fresh look at earthworks estimation to create the most user-friendly package for earthworks estimators. This is the new kid on the block in terms of on-screen take-off and earthworks estimating having been launched in 2014. We make an earthworks take-off (cut & fill) software called Kubla Cubed. We are a software company that specialize in creating products for earth-moving professionals. I understand that new members can have one introductory post to explain their product or service so I would like to introduce my company Kubla Ltd.
